Criag is a real artist and a gentleman. We so enjoyed having him help make our home so special. Truly, it was such a treat to see him work his magic. He's so professional, talented and reliable. We were almost reluctant to write a review because he's so qualified. Didn't want him to get so busy that he wouldn't have time for us in the future. He was worth the wait.

Craig completely transformed my front entryway, tremendously improving the functionality and appearance of our home. His work reflects a bygone era when people were TRUE craftsmen. Craig has also repaired and improved our other exterior and some interior doors/locks that were not quite properly installed originally. I have the highest amount of respect for Craig both personally and professionally. Working on a project with him is a joyful experience!

Craig was able to repair TWENTY SIX broken Bouvet door levers in my home that the original builder put in wrong. Bouvet is a very finicky hardware that not just anyone can install (believe me I've looked for years). I was afraid I would have to replace all of my hardware in my home. Craig came and worked for 3 days to fix every single issue with the doors (lots had separate issues). He was professional, reliable and a technician. I'm so glad I finally found someone I have complete confidence in to work on my home and get it right the first time.

Interior Artisans was able to repair a faulty Baldwin door lockset on our home that we had tried to have repaired for OVER four years with multiple tradesman!!! Craig Donegan immediately diagnosed the problem; ordered the parts and returned within days (during the BUSY holiday season) to fix our entry door so we could close the door securely and lock our home. We were blown away by his knowledge, capabilities and professionalism. He is the GREATEST!!!!

Craig Donegan was really The Artisan when he installed the mortise lock set on our front door which we had purchase used from a recycling location for our 129 year old home in which nothing is square. Craig was resourceful and attentive to every detail in repairing an old front door lock, saving us from simply replacing it with a new model. He found replacement parts which worked beautifully!

Craig assisted us with the rehab and install of our originall 100 year old hardware on a new front door. Craig promply returned my initial phone call, came to meet me in person and carefully explained the scope of the project. He referred me to a great metalsmith to have the piece refinished and once the new door arrived he cut the mortise himself, very carefully, by hand. He consulted me every step of hte way with regards to knob height, lock placement etc. He clearly thinks very carefully about even the smallest of details. I would not hesitate to recommend Craig to anyone for his beautiful work.

I highly recommend Craig Donegan, who is a master craftsman and the finest and most skilled carpenter --and "historic and new hardware" locksmith --I have ever had the privilege of working with. Thirty years ago, we started our first restoration and renovation of a 1919 home in suburban Chicago that resulted in every piece of original hardware (1919-era window latches and doorknobs, handles, locks, hinges) being polished or replated. By 2016, many of our doors and much of the original hardware were loose and not adjusted properly. Craig worked on almost every door in our home, put all the original hardware back in working order, hung all of our doors brilliantly and adjusted the old hardware so doors now close smoothly. We are thrilled with the result, I can assure you. In addition, Craig made exceptional suggestions to solve numerous problems -- such as doorknobs that were denting walls because the proper doorstops had not been installed. Craig ordered solid hardware replacements, such as Baldwin solid brass floor doorstops, to insure that no further damage was being done by improperly installed door hardware.. Craig's appreciation of even the simplest piece of antique hardware made it a pure pleasure to work with him. If you need any adjustments to your doors, windows or need fine carpentry work in your home -- whether antique or new -- Craig Donegan is your man. He is a true artist and an "interior artisan" who knows his craft. If you are fortunate to have him work for you, you will have the most beautiful home, with subtle adjustments and "fixes" that will add to the appearance and enjoyment of your home.

I feel very lucky indeed to have found Craig Donegan. He has helped me on several projects in my 90-year old home in the North Chicago suburbs. Each interior door in my home has original brass knobs, rosettes, turn locks and interior workings that have needed much maintenance over the years. He has always been able to restore each door to perfect working condition. Also, Craig did a significant repair on my original front entry door that included quite a bit of micro-carpentry on the door itself and well as a total replacement of the copper weather stripping. It looks terrific. I have had many, many different people work on different parts of my old home and Craig is truly a gem!
